Duck Crag

Map Reference: SE686953
Aspect: West
Altitude: 290m
Approach Time: 10 minutes

Unknown prior to 2011, however there are no signs of any previous ascents being made. The crag was discovered by Sam Marks and Jack Hodgson in late 2011 and the first routes were put up in June 2012 during the Queens Jubilee weekend.

Situation and Character
The crag has pleasant views over the lower end of Farndale and is only a short walk from the road. For a full day it would be best combined with a trip to either the Duck Boulders or Oak Crag.

Access and Approaches
The crag lies 1km south of Oak Crag and just a few hundred meters above the Duck Boulders. Either park just south of the oak crag parking in an obvious 'D shaped' lay-by and walk west across the moorland to find the top of the crag in about 10 minutes. Alternatively, Park in Low Mill Farndale and follow the foot path up to Cragg Cottage, then continue directly up the hill, through the Duck Boulders until you are below the crag.

The Climbs
The climbs are described left to right. The first buttress is BBQ Buttress and is distinctly black in colour. The second, Jubilee Buttress is just right of this. Duck wall lies about 100 meters south of here and is the most southern buttress.
